The moon crawled across the sky. The small group living in this town were happy to have me; I refused to lay down in one of their beds, though it was impossible to explain why. They, however, took his words as an offer to take the night shift in their watchtower.

I had climbed up onto the roof of the tower, letting the moonlight wash over me. I still found it hard to believe that I was human. And yet, none had questioned the fact that my eyes looked like they had before; deep purple, a menacing color. They didn't glow in the dark like they once had, but regardless...did most humans have odd traits?

I thought about it more as I stretched out on the wooden roof of the tower, making sure to keep an eye on the area around the wall of the town. It was a quiet night, thankfully. I could see a few zombies near the wall, but they didn't make any attempt to breach it.

Something had indeed escaped my notice, though. I didn't realize it until his amused voice came from behind me. "Nice night, isn't it?" I jumped up at once, drawing my lips back in a snarl. It didn't have the same effect as I had hoped, as Herobrine just laughed. "Cool it, End. It's just me."
"You! What did you do to me?!" I snapped at him, seizing the front of his collar in my thick, human fingers.
"Let go of me, and I'll explain." He snorted. I hesitated. "You can either release me, or I'll blast you off of this roof. The height itself will kill you before I get a chance to."

I slowly released him. "Explain," I demanded.
"It's quite simple." Herobrine straightened out his shirt before explaining. "I destroyed the consciousness of the human and placed your consciousness - your soul - in that body." Upon seeing the look on my face, he laughed again and continued. "Not to worry, your old body is perfectly fine. It's a bit like you've fallen into a deep sleep."

I relaxed, but not by much. "Why?" I questioned, feeling some of my anger fading.
"Isn't it obvious? As far as I've observed, you're on your way to a pretty major city. Or at least, near it. Your job is simple. You'll live with them, eat with them, carry on with a normal human life. They see you as human, and you're going to act like that. Get close to them. When the time is right, I'll come find you again."

"What? Why do I have to be the one stuck in this stupid body?!" I snarled at him.
"Your mind hasn't turned human, has it? I know that you're stuck in there, but you don't have to conform to the human norm of not thinking." He tutted. "You're in there because I can't do it myself. I'm the one who moved your consciousness to that body. If I were to move myself, I would be unable to go back."

I fumed for several more minutes before sitting down again, considering everything. "Fine," I said at last. "But why am I supposed to get close to these...things? I don't like them..."
"Are you sure?" Herobrine said quietly. There was a long moment of silence as I was unable to stop my thoughts from flicking to Amy. Despite her annoying nature, she was indeed beginning to grow on me somewhat. I knew it to be a fact.

"Don't get attached, End. You're smarter than that." Herobrine said. Then he was gone. I laid back down on the roof, unable to suppress an uncomfortable shiver as I questioned why all this had to be.

Why, after I swore to myself to destroy humans, that I had to act as one? Such a silly facade, one that I saw little point to. I realized slowly, with another cold shiver, that there was a reason for all this. Perhaps Herobrine meant for me to get close to the human leaders so I could assassinate them.
Or perhaps he intended for me to snoop around and find good places to hide TNT so the entire place could be blown to bits. Or maybe there was something he wanted out of the city. Or...

My thoughts trailed on and on as the sun slowly rose. I sat up and climbed off of the roof, feeling annoyed and a bit tired. I shook it off easily, though, knowing that acting tired would just be pointless. I put on a smile as I made it to the bottom of the watchtower ladder, finding Amy waiting for me.

"Ready to go?" She asked happily. I nodded, holding my smile until she turned away. Then, an irritating question arose in the back of my mind.
In any of the situations I had thought of, would I be able to do any of it with Amy around? And if it came down to it...

Would I be capable of disposing of her?
