The 'base' was little more than a wooden house tucked away in the woods, a bit off the beaten paths. I didn't see any of the interior, but I could guess that it wasn't all that great. We were put in the cellar, Amy and I. She was tightly bound and put in the corner, while I was tied securely to a chair in the center of the room. All of our things were taken; weapons and food alike.

They left after tying us down, obviously going to prepare for their interrogations. Or perhaps gorging themselves on Amy's stockpile of cooked meats and apples. I was a bit disgusted at the thought, as usual, but turned my mind away from my own concerns. I attempted to twist the chair around so I could look at Amy, but to no avail.

The cellar was dark, though. Not only could I see quite clearly, I was getting used to using my sixth sense in this body. I was able to utilize the shadows to get a 'look' at Amy properly; I could see that she wasn't hurt too much, but she was obviously scared. Even if Amy talked big, she was still only human.

I had to recoil and let out a short gasp of pain as there was a click and lights were switched on. The effect for me was similar to being kicked in the face; it took me several minutes to get used to the harsh glow of the strange lamps on the ceiling. When I did grow accustomed to the light, the leader of the group was standing before me.

He looked gruff, with a scraggly beard and a scar over the left side of his mouth. He leaned forward and inspected me, while I tried to break the ropes holding my wrists to the armrests of the chair. "What do you want from me, human?" I hissed at him, unable to keep the last word from slipping out of my mouth. I would have been concerned about my cover being blown, but I was mad. I lacked a logical frame of mind at that point in time. Not to mention I had lost a lot of blood.

The man snorted, sticking the point of his sword under my chin and forcing my head up. I felt my anger grow as he smirked at me. "Let's start simple, shall we?" He said, moving his sword away. I could tell from his voice that this human was the same one that had shot the arrow. "Tell the truth, make me believe it, things will go quite well for you and your girlfriend over there."

I frowned, my eyes narrowed. "And what if I lie?"
"Let's just say that a little...force might be involved if you don't talk." He tutted. "As unfortunate as that would be, it may happen if you fail to listen or comply."
Hesitation. I then swallowed hard. "Ask your questions." I said at last, closing my eyes as I prepared myself mentally for whatever might happen next.

"Who were you speaking with, on the roof of that watchtower?" The first question.
Followed by my first response. "Herobrine."
"Very good. Where did he go?"
"Your guess is as good as mine."
"Hmph," The human didn't seem to like that answer. I was telling the truth, though; I had no idea where Herobrine had gone off to.

The human continued his questioning. "Well then, what did he say?"
"He told me to go with Amy and to stay with her. Nothing serious." I shook my head. He hadn't actually said that, but it didn't matter. It was truthful enough.
"And why would he tell you that, exactly?"
I stopped. Should I continue telling the truth? I decided that I might as well. It had been obvious to me that Herobrine wanted to destroy something, using me somehow. Should I say that much? Amy was listening...

"Well?" The human prodded.
"I don't know," I said quietly. "I don't know why I have to stay with her, but I do."
My answer was met with a fist to the mouth. The chair toppled backwards, clattering to the floor. I let out a cry of pain, feeling my mouth start to bleed from a broken tooth.

"You think I can't tell when you're lying, boy?" The human growled in disgust, turning away. "No matter. I'll have more questions for you in the morning. If you're still here, at any rate." He turned away, climbing up the staircase that led to the outside. "Have fun."

He left the door open. I could see the setting sun just outside. Amy screamed at him to come back, struggling against the ropes that held her fast. She calmed down quickly enough, turning her teary glare on me. "Y-you talked to Herobrine...you TALKED to Herobrine?! But...you had to ask me who he was? What was that, then, information gathering?!"

"Something like that..." I sighed heavily.
"Well, what the heck does he want with me? Why would he tell you to stick with me, then?" Amy seethed with anger. I guessed she felt used somewhat. Perhaps she blamed me for our current situation...

I kept silent.

Two chapters, in that many days? I've gone mad, perhaps!
And kind of no cliffhangers this time. Kind of. Although I was thinking about it. :iconshakefish:
